From trying to reach more bilingualism parents in Wandsworth to running both workshop A and B in a fortnight back in King’s Cross, September has been an extremely busy month for Babylingualism, still new and fresh in its first year. The goal is to help as many parents as possible on their bilingual journey with raising their child to become bilingual. Information must be supported with evidenced based facts from the latest research and how this can translate to practical everyday advice so that empower parents have the skills and techniques that they can use for life with their child from birth to the school years.
We finished workshop B this morning and I left enthralled. It was such a busy morning from trying to source adult sized chairs (yes, I’ve listened to previous feedback!) and keeping the tempo of the session that I had completely forgotten to take photographs of the participants busy at work! It was amazing to see parents after completing workshop A this year return with such confidence in speaking to their child in their home/minority language and using the skills learnt that I felt so infused with happiness that I can’t help but smile throughout the session. The little ones had also grown so quickly as well from babies in arms to interactive toddlers absorbing in the learning environment. We also welcomed new faces in workshop B and comments were fedback about how usefulness the session was and how they wanted to book workshop A and be placed on a waiting list for future workshops!
I am constantly looking into ways of improving the workshop and feedback is taken very seriously. “Longer Q&A/longer session” in workshop B will be looked into but I am not sure about workshop C at this point! However I definitely will be revising the content of workshop A and B to create an even better bilingual learning environment for all future participants.
Thank you to all participants so far and for your motivation and dedication in raising your child to become bilingual. I am so grateful for your lovely testimonials and feedback and really look forward to hearing your success stories in the near future.
