Harlow Chinese School is a Saturday school with a relatively long history and it was first established in 1973 by a group of people keen to teach the Chinese language to the local residents in and around the Harlow area.
We are actively promoting the teaching and learning of the Chinese language (Mandarin from 2005 to present, and Cantonese from 1973 to 2014) to around 160 school children and adults. Lessons are taught by an experienced and dedicated team of over 10 teachers (some with teaching assistant) with full teaching resources at their disposal. The headteacher is supported by two deputies to manage the operation of the school, future planning and resourcing of the school. Overall, the school is supported by the 10 members Board of School Governors, chaired by Mr L. S. Man and other members of the Harlow Chinese community centre. The school is one of the very few Chinese schools in the country to provide areas where parents can meet socially and there is a small playground for children to play outdoors.
